Volunteers are vital to our success

Volunteers are vital to our success, Juanita NovotnyJuanita Novotny was elected to a three-year term on the credit union’s board of directors at this year’s annual membership meeting on April 30. She brings a vast amount of experience and expertise in the accounting/tax field to the position, which is non-paid. Currently, she works as a senior accountant at Daniel Jones & Associates. Prior to that, she was a tax software programmer for 10 years.

Novotny has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She also has completed 52 hours of postgraduate work in accounting and related courses at Northern Kentucky University. These skills are certainly an asset to Arsenal Credit Union, and we are pleased to have her in a leadership role.

Volunteers are vital to our success, Randy PrattFollowing the annual membership meeting, the board elected four individuals to its executive committee: Randy Pratt, chairman; Gary Dierks, vice chairman; Peggy Haberberger, secretary; and Bob Killion, treasurer. Haberberger also serves on the supervisory committee, and she was elected as its chairwoman by fellow committee members. Each of these particular positions is a one-year term; all are members of the credit union.

Pratt has served as chairman of the board for most of the 25 years that he has been a volunteer at the credit union, and President/CEO Linda Allen gave special recognition to him on his silver anniversary at the annual membership meeting. Allen noted his enthusiasm for credit union ideology, specifically Arsenal’s. “To this day,” she said, “he continues to loyally fulfill his duties with the utmost care and diligence while always remembering to hold our members in the highest regard. Randy has undoubtedly made a positive impact on the lives and experiences of Arsenal’s members and employees. For this, we are truly thankful.”

Mr. Pratt joined Arsenal in 1970 while serving in the United States Air Force. He went on to work for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) for 26 years before retiring in 2004.
