At Arsenal Credit Union, there’s nothing more important to us than giving back to the local community. One of the ways we do this is by helping protect the environment.
By holding annual shred and recycle events, Arsenal is actively keeping tons of waste out of local landfills. This year alone, Arsenal’s four participating branches shredded and recycled a total of 30,450 pounds of paper. That means 15 tons of waste, the equivalent of 3½ full-size pickup trucks, was prevented from ending up in landfills!
To see how much each individual branch contributed to our final shred count, please see the chart below:
|Location||Weight Shredded (lbs.)|
|Arnold||10,850 (5.43 tons)|
|Webster Groves||8,500 (4.25 tons)|
|Florissant||6,900 (3.45 tons)|
|Swansea||4,200 (2.1 tons)|
|TOTAL||30,450 (15.23 tons)|
In comparison, you helped us shred and recycle a total of 45,325 pounds (22½ tons) of paper and electronics during our 12 events held last year. Therefore, with our current numbers above, we are on track to exceed last year’s shred/recycle totals by the end of 2016.
Of course, none of this could be possible without your continued trust and support in Arsenal Credit Union. Thank you for visiting us and making your shred contributions to this annual initiative. Also, we want to send a big thanks to our shredding partner, American Document Destruction – you guys are always incredible.
More shred events will be held this fall, so start compiling your stacks of paper now!
Electronics recycling events will be held this year at our branches in Florissant (North St. Louis County) and Oakville (South St. Louis County branch) on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. Next year, two of our other branches will host them.
