Safely dispose of your old electronics at our mostly free eRecycling events

eRecycling TV GraphicSo you’ve already shredded your important documents at our #ACUshred events in April, but you still have some old electronics you’d like to safely dispose of? Now is your chance!

On June 11, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Arsenal’s South County and North County branches will both host a mostly free electronics recycling event in cooperation with MRC Recycling to help protect the environment.

Based in Park Hills, MO, MRC Recycling safely, responsibly and affordably recycles electronics; the company has achieved both R2 National and Level 4 State certifications.

Almost anything that runs on electricity or takes batteries, such as computers, printers, kitchen appliances, vacuum cleaners, stereo equipment, VCR and DVD players, power tools, grass trimmers, flat panel TVs, (plasma, LCD & LED), etc., will be accepted and recycled free of charge to you; however, there are several items that differ from this rule:

  • Items accepted for a fee:
    • CRT (old tube style) TVs 26″ or less: $20
    • CRT TVs 27″ or more: $40
    • Wood console TVs: $50
    • Big Screen/Projection TVs: $50

NOTE: Funds collected for the aforementioned items are used for the proper disposal of these items per environmental management regulations and not collected for the financial gain of Arsenal Credit Union or MRC Recycling.

  • The following items will not be accepted for recycling:
    • Thermostats
    • Smoke detectors
    • Light bulbs
    • Alkaline batteries
