Almost 5 tons of paper shredded at our fall events

In September, we hosted events at our Arnold, Webster Groves and North St. Louis County branches where you could have sensitive paper documents securely shredded on-site at no cost through our partner American Document Destruction. These events are held annually to give members an easy and convenient way to have their confidential documents shredded, helping them protect their identity.

In total, you helped us recycle about 4.75 tons of paper this fall! Combined with our spring events, we shredded and recycled close to 16 tons of documents this year.

Here are the fall results by individual branch:

  • Arnold: 4,800 pounds
  • Webster Groves: 2,500 pounds
  • North St. Louis County: 2,200 pounds

During the summer, at our two electronics recycling events (June 17 and June 24), we collected and prevented 8 tons of obsolete, broken and unwanted TVs, computer monitors and other e-waste from needlessly ending up in landfills, too.

Thanks for helping us protect the environment by having your paper and old electronics recycled and reused.

The spring 2018 shred events will be held on Saturday, May 5, at our Arnold and Florissant branches, and on Saturday, May 12, at our Webster Groves and Swansea locations.
